Transforming Robins

I couldn't resist snapping these images of the American Robins in the tree outside our living room window after an unexpected spring snowstorm.  I posted the images on FaceBook and that inspired my sister, Janet Cardinal; who teaches art lessons to create this example of the image.  She will be teaching a session using these robins as the subject on August 21st in Edmonton, AB, Canada.

Snowy Owl - I got PUBLISHED!!!

This image has been published on page 8 of "Bird Watch Canada" with the title "the 15th Annual Great Backyard Bird Count - Canadian Highlights" Summer 2012, Number 60.  http://www.bsc-eoc.org/about/index.jsp?lang=EN&targetpg=birdwatch

We participate in the Annual Christmas Bird Count and in doing so become members of Bird Studies Canada and receive the publication  - Bird Watch Canada.  I sat down to enjoy the articles in this newly arrived edition AND as I viewed my owl - I thought "Wow!  Someone took the exact same photo I did!  How cool is that?"  then I noticed my credit just under the photo of one of the multitude of Snowy Owls we observed November - March 2011-2012.  This owl is one of the regular and predictable ones we could visit.  There are issues with photos taken in Northern Canada in winter as the light is very poor to non existent during the 7 hours of "daylight".

Branching out

Some of my FB friends have enjoyed my images and I'm looking to "diversify" my life.
